Fairy House Competition!
Our Fairies are homeless! This winter was very hard on the Fairy Homes so we are holding another contest to help rebuild the Fairy Garden and would love your help! We need Fairy houses for the garden and maybe a few fairies too! If you would like to submit a fairy house it should be:
• A minimum of 1ft x 1ft and a maximum of 3ft x 3ft
• Colorful
• Weatherproof [important]
• Able to be hung in a tree or set on a stump
• You can add your own fairies if you like
• Finished and delivered to the MRF office by 4pm on August 2, 2013
We will have 3 winners:
1st Place, two Season Passes & 2 Feast of Fantasy Tickets
2nd Place, two Season Passes & 2 Blackstone Beer Bash Tickets
3rd Place, Four Festival Tickets.
Everyone that enters a finished house will receive 2 tickets to this year’s show.
The top 25 Fairy Houses will be displayed in the Fairy Garden the rest will be displayed throughout the festival!

Final Auditions!
Our LAST audition date is Saturday, June 1st! Join us from 10am - 2pm if you're interested in become a part of our cast!
Headshots and resumes are welcome but not required! Our auditions are informal, interactive and lots of fun!

2013 Auditions!
The Michigan Renaissance Festival is casting for musicians, ensembles, street performers, dancers, stage combat performers and actors. Participants need not have performance experience. Participants interested in becoming a costumed street performer/character will be interviewed, asked to do some cold reading, and if accepted, will be invited to participate in the Michigan Renaissance Festival Performance Workshop, and will learn the craft of interactive street performance. Performers of all ages are encouraged to come to the auditions.
Dates and Times:
Saturday, May 18 and Saturday, May 25 from 10am - 2pm and Wednesday, May 29 from 6pm - 8pm. Please be prepared to stay for the entire audition time!
All auditions will be held at the MRF office next to the festival site at 12600 Dixie Highway, Holly, MI 48442.
The last audition and callbacks will be on Saturday, June 1 or by appointment.

From the South (Ann Arbor):
Head North on US-23 to exit 79, Silver Lake Road toward Linden. Turn right onto West Silver Lake Road/US-23 Bus N. and head East for 1.3 miles. Continue onto Main Street for 1 mile. Continue onto Grange Hall Road for 7.5 miles. Turn left onto Dixie Highway (you will see a State Police post on the Northeast corner) and continue for 2.2 miles. The Festival will be on the lefthand side. Please note: there is ANOTHER Silver Lake Road exit off of US-23. It is exit number 55. This is not the exit you are looking for!
From the South (Detroit):
Head North on I-75 to exit 106 and merge onto S. Saginaw Road toward Grand Blanc. Make a U turn (you will see signs directing you to Southbound Dixie Highway and the Festival) and continue South on Dixie Highway for 2.7 miles. The Festival will be on the righthand side.
From the North (Saginaw):
Head South on I-75. Take exit 106 on the LEFT and merge onto Dixie Highway. Continue South on Dixie Highway for 3 miles. The Festival will be on the righthand side.
From the East (Imlay City):
Head West on I-69 to exit 137 and merge onto I-475 South toward Detroit. Continue on I-475 South for 7 miles. Merge onto I-75 South and continue for 5 miles. Take exit 106 on the LEFT and merge onto Dixie Highway. Continue South on Dixie Highway for 3 miles. The Festival will be on the righthand side.
From the West (Lansing):
Head East on I-69 to exit 133 and merge onto I-75 South/US-23 South. Continue on I-75 South/US-23 South for 2.5 miles. Slight left to merge onto I-75 South and continue for 8.5 miles. Take exit 106 on the LEFT and merge onto Dixie Highway. Continue South on Dixie Highway for 3 miles. The Festival will be on the righthand side.

Outside Food & Beverage Policy:
The Michigan Renaissance Festival does NOT allow outside food or beverages through our gates unless the food is a medical necessity such as infant formula/baby food. (The Festival will allow one unopened bottle of water per person to be brought through the front gate.) All flasks must be empty before entering the Festival gates! You may bring a cooler to leave in your car if you wish. If you choose to do so it must remain in your car. Patrons are welcome to leave through our gates, receive a hand stamp, return to their car and reenter through our gates later during the same day. Please note: all bags are inspected at the front gate! (This is for our employee's and patron's safety!) If you have any questions, please call (248) 634-5552.
Film/Photo Rights:
All film rights are reserved. Commercial use of photos, videos or audio tapes made at the festival without written permission from the marketing department is strictly prohibited. Any cameras with lenses over 12 inches must have prior approval from the marketing department to shoot photos on the Michigan Renaissance Festival grounds.
Weapons Policy:
The Festival bans guns on our premises. Longbows are allowed as long as they are not strung, arrows with tips are not allowed unless you are competing in the longbow competition that day. Swords, knives, dirks and daggers must be completely sheathed and peace-tied. Axes, claymores, maces, antique firearms, pikes and halberds are NOT allowed on the Festival site. No drawing of any weapon at any time. Must be 18 years or older to carry a weapon. If you have additional questions, please contact the Festival Office at (248) 634-5552 for more information. |
